Interested in becoming a beta reader for me?

***REGISTRATIONS OF INTEREST ARE CURRENTLY CLOSED***

You are? Read on!

I am looking for people who are willing to give me constructive feedback on my work in progress. Usually this would be the first draft of a book.

You would be required to read the book and provide feedback within the specified period of time, usually between four to six weeks. This is very important, as I’ll be working to a deadline. If you do not provide feedback by the cut-off date you will be removed from the beta reader list – sorry if that comes across as a little harsh.

Why constructive feedback and not constructive criticism?

Good question! Personally I feel criticism is not constructive. Oxford Dictionaries defines ‘criticism’ (noun) as: “The expression of disapproval of someone or something on the basis of perceived faults or mistakes.

Nobody likes being criticised, myself included.

Constructive feedback can be used as a basis for improvement. That is, if you find something in one of my books that isn’t right, conflicts with an earlier event, isn’t clear, or even a simple typo or grammatical error – trust me, there are heaps of those – you can point them out and offer suggestions on what you feel would work.

Does that sound like something you could do? If you answered ‘Yes’, please fill out the form (refer below) and when my next book is ready for beta reading I’ll be in touch.

Note: If you don’t receive a confirmation email, please check your spam, as it might have been redirected there!
